Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 19, 2026 · Applies to SynapseBridge 1.0 and later.

This privacy policy describes how SynapseBridge handles your data. The short version is: it doesn't go anywhere we can see. The longer version is below.

1. The local-first principle

SynapseBridge is designed so that your private information stays on your computer. Gain Publications operates no servers that store, process, or relay your conversations, your AI usage, your API keys, your project files, or your generated content. The application is a client — it talks directly between your machine and the AI providers you choose.

2. What we don't collect

  • No account creation. SynapseBridge does not require you to create an account with Gain Publications. There is no Gain Publications user database.
  • No telemetry. The application does not phone home with usage statistics, feature analytics, error reports, or any other behavioral data.
  • No conversation data. Your chats, project memory, and generated content are stored locally in %APPDATA%\SynapseBridge and never transmitted to Gain Publications.
  • No API keys. The credentials you provide for AI providers are stored locally on your device. We have no way to read them.
  • No file contents. Anything the autonomous agent reads, writes, or modifies stays on your filesystem.
  • No advertising identifiers. No device fingerprinting. No cross-app tracking.

3. What does leave your computer

SynapseBridge makes network requests in only a few specific scenarios, and in each case the data goes only where it strictly needs to:

  • To AI providers. When you send a message, your prompt — plus any conversation history and context you've configured — travels directly from your computer to the API endpoint of the provider you selected. That provider's privacy policy and terms apply.
  • To search backends. When the application performs web research, it queries DuckDuckGo (or whatever search backend SynapseBridge has configured) and may fetch the resulting pages directly.
  • To image generation providers. If you use the Image Studio, your prompt and any reference images are sent to the image provider you selected.
  • To the Microsoft Store. For license verification of paid editions and trial period tracking, SynapseBridge communicates with Microsoft Store services as part of the standard Store app lifecycle.
  • To Gain Publications model database. SynapseBridge periodically downloads an updated list of supported AI models from a public GitHub repository. This download contains no personal information and is the same file for every user.

4. Microsoft Store

Because SynapseBridge is distributed through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may collect aggregate install, crash, and rating statistics per their own policies. These statistics are not personally identifiable and are governed by Microsoft's privacy statement, not by Gain Publications. We see only the same anonymous metrics Microsoft makes available to every Store developer.

5. Third-party AI providers

When you use SynapseBridge to connect to an AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, and others), your interaction with that provider is governed by their privacy policy and terms of service — not by ours. SynapseBridge does not modify, log, or relay the content of those interactions. You are responsible for understanding the data handling practices of any AI provider you choose to use.

6. Children's privacy

SynapseBridge is not directed at children under 13. Because we do not collect data, we do not knowingly process information about children or anyone else.

7. Security

Your data's security depends primarily on your computer's security, because that's where everything is stored. We recommend keeping Windows updated, using disk encryption if your device is portable, and following the standard practices you'd apply to any application that handles API credentials.

8. Changes to this policy

If we update this privacy policy, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Material changes will be communicated through Microsoft Store update notes or through the application itself.
